I wasn't aware this is on this weekend - it doesn't seem to have got any publicity in the local rag. However I'll be delighted to put gardening aside to check out the mighty Beta

Edit: Went to see it today (Sunday). What a fine-looking piece of work. Every bit as good as it appears in photos. Well done, Jeff; sorry you weren't around to talk to when I was looking at it.

Default what a day!!

Sorry I missed meeting you too Bob!

There were many highlights on the weekend. From lowest to highest they were....
1. Seeing the Alfa G1 arrive under it's own power in the morning, a truly remarkable piece of motoring history, beautifully restored.
2. Organising a photoshoot after lunch with 2 rally prepared red Fulvia's, a red Stratos, the Marlboro Beta Coupe, and a red Delta Integrale.
3. Having every Ferrari that passed us on the way back up the Hume, blow their horns, exchange waves and accelerate away (the Ferrari's did the accelerating away, of course!)
4. Driving the car down and back, although a tad uncomfortable and noisy, she performed flawlessly all the way. Took the scenic route down via Helensburgh, Stanwell Tops, Seacliff Bridge, Macquarie Pass, Robertson, Moss Vale, Exeter, Bundanoon, Marulan, and then the Freeway (11hrs). Thunder run home yesterday evening (8hrs).

I saw more "never before seen" cars in one day, than I have ever seen in my life. An unbelievable display of some Italy's finest motor cars & bikes.

Great Weekend, must do that again! (Photo's to follow asap)

Good wrap on the Canberra Times today too with the G1 in pride of place. I should have got out there.

Wink

Thanks John,
I have one spare car in the yard that I haven't had time to dismantle yet (it has terminal rust), but lots of good spares including a recently recon'd 2L engine. I'm always on the lookout for "sad" ones going cheap, mainly for mechanical bits & pieces.

UPDATE.
Have just about completed upgrade of rear suspension, including crossmember strengthening as per homologation papers, and transverse link strengthening as well. Hopefully be competing in Pacific Rally Club event at Wauchope, end of July.

P.S. The above mentioned event has been postponed to a date in September I believe....
